1.Research & Development
For my research I will look into my target audience, which will most likely be 16-24 year olds, and look into the ideas from other music videos (i.e my competition) and figure out what works from their videos. I will also further research into my own ideas and perhaps survey people in the age range of my target audience about what they would like to see in a music video. After I do that I can hopefully apply some better ideas to my own music video.
To develop the ideas of my music video I will create a timeline and a video treatment (what happens on screen), The group will then pitch the idea to Luke and see if it is practical enough to create. Hopefully if the video idea is good enough to get produced we will then create a storyboard and anamatic. After that we will look into casting people for the band and camera test them to make sure they look alright on camera. This is because some people look slightly different on camera than they do in real life.
2.Pre-Production
For pre-production we will need to confirm the cast to make sure nobody drops out last minute. We will need to also confirm the location and make sure that we have permission to shoot in the location. The group will need to also make sure we have the correct wardrobe, make-up and props.
As well as all that we will need to prepare a call sheet (this is the bible of the shoot day) which will include:
-Lyrics of the song
-Cast list + their numbers in case we need to get a hold of them
-Equipment list, anything needed
-Storyboard
-Directions to locations (if any)
3.Production

Shoot Day. Film the music video and hope everything runs smoothly.
4.Post-Production
Edit the music video and put in any after effects if needed.
5.Distribution & Exhibition
For the distribution and exhibition of the music video hopefully we would be able to get it on the TV, played on the Radio and perhaps shown on shopping centre televisions. Also to market the band and its new single hopefully we would be able to put advertisements in magazines and on the television and put out posters. This way many people from many different walks of life would all see advertisements for the single and the video and hopefully watch it.
